Through providing social microfinance services, Sont Oo Tehtwin 

focuses on economic and social empowerment of people in the area. As of July 2016, they supported

2,500 entrepreneurs for a total loan outstanding of almost $ 320,000 !

To contribute to reduce poverty and economic insecurity for 24,000 inhabitants in 30 villages in the state of Kayin (eastern Myanmar) Positive Planet launched an agricultural cooperative to develop agricultural and non-agricultural income-generating activities and create an endogenous sustainable model to reduce rural poverty, which can be replicated in other regions in Myanmar.

Project n°3 : New Entrepreneurs (Grameen Trust, Bangladesh) -

New Entrepreneur Program is a new dimension in the development of Social Business in Bangladesh. The program encourages young individuals of the community to create employment for themselves as well as others by using their creative, innovative and entrepreneurial skills. Grameen Trust invests in equity in some businesses ran by the children of the first Grameen Borrowers. There are 3,000 New Entrepreneurs as of 2017 and there might be 7,000 by the end of the year.

The slogan of the program : "we are not job seekers, we are job givers"

Project n°4 : STEP (Entrepreneurs du Monde, India) -

STEP is a non profit social microfinance organization working for the development of vulnerable sections of the society in Kolkata. They firmly believe that only providing access to finance is not enough for the holistic development of the disadvantaged families and keep focus on wide range of socio-economic services along with financial services. They support now 6,740 micro-entrepreneurs in Kolkata fon an outstanding balance of $ 700,000

The French NGO ACTED decided to spin off its microcredit programs from its non-profit activities and created Oxus. Implemented in 2006, Oxus Kyrgyzstan thrives to offer adapted and socially oriented financial services to populations who are often excluded from the traditional banking system. As of 2017, they support over 5,000 entrepreneurs for an average loan of $1,000. We went to see their programs in 3 cities : Bichkek, Jalala Bad and Och

Project n°6 : Oxus Tajikistan (ACTED, Tajikistan) -

The French NGO ACTED decided to spin off its microcredit programs from its non-profit activities and created Oxus. Implemented in 2005, Oxus Tajikistan thrives to offer adapted and socially oriented financial services to populations who are often excluded from the traditional banking system. As of 2017, they support over 13,000 entrepreneurs for an average loan of $ 1,200. Most of the beneficiaries (80%) come from remote and rural areas
